Will Samsung`s new affordable headphones be the Galaxy Buds Core?

Samsung is reportedly working on a new pair of budget-friendly wireless earbuds, which may be named Galaxy Buds Core. This model could be the successor to the well-received Galaxy Buds FE.

It's been 18 months since the original Galaxy Buds FE were launched, and now new information suggests that Samsung is preparing a follow-up model. However, it looks like the company might opt for a name change this time. Instead of being called Galaxy Buds FE 2, the new product may hit the market as Galaxy Buds Core. This was revealed in an FCC filing discovered by X user @DalgieshGX.

A completely new product?

It’s still unclear whether the Galaxy Buds Core is just a rebranded Buds FE 2 or a completely new product. One clue is that the device is only trademarked in 12 specific countries, suggesting that it may be targeted at selected markets rather than a global release.

Notably, the U.S., Canada, and most European countries are not on the list. Instead, the trademark applies to Brazil, Indonesia, Israel, India, Mexico, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, Egypt, and Russia.

Focus on essentials, not extras

The name “Core” implies that the device will focus on essential features, possibly dropping more advanced options like active noise cancellation (ANC) to maintain affordability. While this is still speculation, the fact that the earbuds have received BIS certification in India suggests the launch might be near.
